Earth Hour

Adam Beck TDSB Earth Hour March 29, 2 – 3pm

Worldwide Earth Hour March 30, 8:30 – 9:30 pm

Earth Hour started as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007. It is now the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature. For more information and to sign up visit:

Adam Beck has been part of Earth hour since it started in 2007. That very first year our students realized we could reduce our energy use every day by only using half the hallway lights around the school on a daily basis. Imagine all the electricity Adam Beck has saved since 2007!!!

For the last 3 years we have had solar panels installed on our school roof. This is another way that Adam Beck is helping to reduce our energy use.

This year the Eco team would like to expand the challenge to reduce energy at home.

We are challenging all students and family members to spend the Earth Hour weekend with NO SCREEN TIME!!!  NO SCREEN TIME ALL WEEKEND!!! Are the children in your family up to the challenge? Are the adults in your family up to the challenge?

Whoever is brave enough, can download the Screen Free Challenge Form or pick one up in the office.
