Adopt-a-Family

Making the holidays brighter for families and Seniors in need

Leading up to the holidays, Community Center 55 hosts an “Adopt a Family” and “Adopt a Senior” Program to connect families/seniors unable to afford gifts and/or a holiday dinner with community donors. Every year, the Adam Beck School Council adopts at least one family and one senior in hopes of making their holiday season a little brighter. We ask our community to support this initiative by donating much needed gift cards and unwrapped gifts (collectively “gifts”).

What and how to give

Supporting our community in this way is made possible through the generosity of our Adam Beck community. If you are able to give, we kindly ask for donations of gifts to help with the purchase of groceries, toys and other necessities over the holiday season. After being matched with a family/senior, we will update our SignUp page with our gifts wish list (see below for more information) so you can indicate which gift(s) we can expect from you. Gift cards can be physically purchased or electronically purchased and sent to adopt.a.family@adambeckcouncil.ca. Physical gifts can be dropped off at specified locations (updated annually).Our heartfelt thanks for your generous support in helping families in our community have a happy holiday!

1) Click the SignUp link (launched after the Adam Beck Holiday Party, updated annually)
2) Review the options listed and choose the gifts that you would like to purchase for donation.
3) Sign up! It’s Easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.
