Volunteers Needed – STEM Initiative

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Adam Beck STEM committee is putting out a call for volunteers!

To support the Grade 5/6 curriculum, we are interested in bringing the stories and experiences of our community into Adam Beck classrooms.

The school curriculum requires that students learn about practical applications of science and technology in occupations, including the skilled trades. Students are also required to learn about the impact of emerging technology and coding on everyday life.

If you have experience and a story to tell we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for volunteers to present to the Grade 5/6 students in the new year. Presentations can take on many forms (in person, video, interactive). The presentation does not need to be long. A powerful presentation could be just 15 minutes.

If you have a story to tell and related experiences to share that might help to inspire the next generation of STEM innovators, here is a link to a short survey so that we can pass along a list of volunteers to the teachers.

Feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
