Garden Committee Update

Spring has finally sprung and we’re taking inventory of what has survived this long winter and what has not.

As you will see, many bulbs are sprouting up and it looks like we’re going to have a beautiful show of spring blooms soon.

In the Kindie North garden we’re looking into having the planters for the edibles tied to the fence to prevent damage.

The committee is tentatively planning to do spring planting with the students on June 6th (with a rain date of June 7th). The hard-working garden committee members look forward to getting into the garden again with our supportive teachers and staff and enthusiastic students. Adam Beck has an abundance of excellent environmental stewards.

Committee members are also working to apply for the PollinateTO Community Grant toward a new pollinator garden, which would be located at the front of the school.

We will have a special tribute for a new bench and butterfly bush to honour the memory of former Adam Beck student Reese Fallon, one of the victims of the Danforth shooting tragedy last summer. Plans are underway to install these before the end of the school year. We hope you enjoy watching the flowers bloom!
