Spring has sprung in the school garden!

The spring planting activities at Adam Beck went very well on Wednesday, June 6 and the weather was perfect.

Several students joined us – they were eager to help, respectful and productive. Planting, weeding and mulching activities took place in the Kindie Garden South, the Kindie Garden North (Butterflyway Garden and Edible Garden planters), the Primary Garden out front, and the Junior Garden planters out back.

We also introduced a living wall for the parking lot – new climbing ivy plants will provide a natural shade for the parking lot.

Special thanks to Janet O’Reilly, Mel Chryssafis and Amanda Wood for their wonderful help with the students. Also thanks to Dominique Bruce for her ongoing support of the garden committee and to Mr. Mills for making sure we’ve got the necessary tools. Thanks also to Mr. Yee for rolling up his sleeves and helping us carry materials. Much appreciated 🙂

Enjoy a few pictures from planting day!
