Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week at Adam Beck – May 5–9

We’re proud to recognize Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week at Adam Beck from May 5–9, in partnership with our School Council Mental Health & Well-Being Committee.

This year’s theme focuses on delaying smartphone use and access to social media, while encouraging the development of healthy screen habits. Throughout the week, students will participate in daily class discussions and fun, engaging activities designed to help them reflect on how screen time and social media influence their feelings, behaviours, and overall well-being.

As a school community, we are also coming together to sign a pledge to delay smartphones that provide access to internet browsers and social media until the age of 14. We encourage you to discuss this important commitment as a family and sign our pledge today: https://unpluggedcanada.com/sign-pledge/

Let’s keep the conversation going at home, and work together to support our children in building positive, balanced relationships with technology.
