Daily Bread Food Drive for Ramadan
Help us collect non-perishable food items and donations for members of our community struggling with food insecurity.
The Daily Bread Food Bank reports that in the last year, there were 3.49 million client visits to Toronto food banks – nearly 1 million more visits than the year prior and a 273% increase since pre-pandemic.
Ramadan, observed in the Muslim community, is a month of reflection, spiritual growth, spending quality time with loved ones, and charity.
With this high need in our community the Adam Beck School Council is hosting a Ramadan Daily Bread Food Drive to collect nut free, non-perishable food items and donations to those in need in our community. The food drive will take place March 3-28, 2025 at Adam Beck. Together, with your support, we can support our communities and help end hunger in our city.
What and how to give
If you are able to give, you can help by:
- Sending nut-free non-perishable food items with your children to school. There will be bins in the hallways: one outside the main office and one outside Ms. Newnham-Kanas’ office on the second floor.
- Donating monetarily directly to the Daily Bread Food Bank through our Adam Beck Fundraising Campaign Page.
Most needed items include the following:
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned tomatoes (whole, diced, crushed)
- Oatmeal
- Canned Fruit
- Canned fish (tuna, salmon, sardines)

Volunteer sign-up & questions
We are looking for volunteers to help collect donations for about an hour on Fridays: March 21 and 28, 2025.
