POSTPONED: Guest Speaker: Rania El Mugammar

This event has been postponed. Please disregard the event details below and stay tuned for more information.

Adam Beck hosted a talk with Rania El Mugammar two years ago and we are thrilled to be having her as a guest speaker again on Monday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m.

Join us for an engaging virtual keynote presentation, “Anti-Oppression & Anti-Racism 101: Introduction to Social Justice & Liberation,” from author and activist Rania El Mugammar. The presentation will take place online. Check the weekly school council email newsletter for the Zoom link to register.

This foundational workshop introduces participants to the power dynamics of racial and colonial oppression situated within a Canadian and global context. Learners of all walks discover the language of social justice and explore models to create more equitable communities. The session will also provide context and examples of racism and anti-racist interventions within our communities and institutions.

This presentation is hosted by the Adam Beck School Council Equity Committee and the Kimberly Diversity and Equity Committee.
