“The Adam Beck Variety Show!” annual Winter Concerts
The Adam Beck Jr. Public School annual Winter Concerts are next week, Thurs. Dec. 21, 2017, as listed on the school calendar and advertised in the November Principal’s Newsletter.
These concerts will feature all students in Grades 1 – 6 as well as the Primary and Junior Choirs and the Gr. 6 Band class.
Please read this entire e-mail for further concert details and a schedule for the evening. (Please note: All Kindergarten students will perform in a Spring Celebration in May again this year and are not a part of these December concerts. Thank you!)
Details for the evening:
6:00 p.m. – School opens – Primary students can be dropped off at their classrooms; parents proceed through the school to the gymnasium
6:30 – 7:15 – Primary Concert, featuring all Gr. 1 – 3 classes and the Primary Choir
7:15 – 7:40 – Intermission – Primary students are picked up from their classes; Junior students can be dropped off at their classes and parents proceed through the school to the gymnasium.
7:40 – 8:15 – Junior Concert, featuring all Gr. 4 – 6 classes (including Room 12 and Portable 2), and the Junior Choir and Gr. 6 Band Class.
Important details for the evening:
1) Supervision is NOT being offered for students outside of their concert time (ie. Junior students can’t be in their classrooms during the Primary Concert). Families with students in both the Primary and Junior divisions are welcome to attend both concerts and students can sit with their parents during their siblings concert. Families with students in only one concert are invited to just attend their child’s concert. Thank you for helping to make this busy evening run so smoothly!
2) Students who are members of the Primary or Junior Choirs are being asked to wear plain black (or dark) bottoms and a nice, clean white shirt (short-sleeves is acceptable; the gym is often warm during performances.) On the night of the concert, students in the choir should be delivered to their classrooms where they’ll drop off their jackets and then can proceed down to the studio where they’ll get the choir vest and wait to perform with the choir. At the conclusion of the concert, all choir students can be picked up from their homerooms, where they were initially dropped off.
3) There are a few students in Gr. 3/4 classes and Grade 6 classes who are performing in both concerts because of their involvement in clubs like the Primary Choir or Drama club. Mr. Mason will be in touch with the parents of all these students next week to share specific arrangements for these students (have no fear!)
