Smart Moves, Not Smartphones!
The Mental Health & Well-Being Committee at Adam Beck is joining a growing national movement to delay smartphones with access to social media and internet browsers until at least age 14.
Why? Because childhood should be filled with imagination, connection, and real-life experiences—not scrolling, stress, or social media pressure.
There’s growing evidence that early access to smartphones, social media, and unfiltered internet can negatively affect kids’ brains, behaviour, relationships, and mental health.
By pledging together through @unpluggedcanada we take the pressure off everyone.
Sign the pledge. Tell two friends. Let’s change the norm.

Night on the Beach 2025 was a HUGE success! Big thanks to all of the Adam Beck parents, staff and community members who came out to enjoy the night together, making connections with each other while supporting our school. Extra special thanks goes out to our Platinum Sponsor: Toronto’s Running Realtor - Matt Vatcher of Royal LePage Connect Realty! Matt came out on Friday to chat with folks and provided us with a candy table filled with loads of delicious goodies. Reach out to Matt for all of your buying and selling needs - not only is he an expert in his field, he also lives in the neighbourhood and has extensive knowledge of our community's market trends. Trust us when we say you’ll be in good hands with Matt. Learn more at torontosrunningrealtor.com!
Big thanks also goes out to our Gold Sponsors: Beach Braces, Bomb Fitness, and Scholars Beaches; to our Silver Sponsor: Shoreview Veterinary Clinic; and to our additional community supporter: Dashwood & Dashwood. Without the support of these incredible local organizations, this fundraiser wouldn’t be possible. Let’s support them just like they’ve supported us!
Thanks again to everyone involved for putting on a fantastic fundraiser. Go Bears! ... See MoreSee Less

Do you have a program or idea that you would like to champion that requires money from the School Council Budget to run? Or a fundraising idea to raise money to fund council initiatives?
Each year, parents/caregivers and school staff bring forward many new ideas for the school council budget. If you are wondering how to bring more exciting learning enrichment opportunities to our school, here is your chance. We're collecting ideas for the 2025-2026 school year. We do this now, so that we can hit the ground running in September.
Submit your ideas through our online budget request form by May 2nd (see link in bio). Questions? Email Co-Treasurer's Julie and Alex [email protected] or join us at the April 24 School Council Meeting. ... See MoreSee Less
