Do you have a program or idea that you would like to champion that requires money from the School Council Budget to run? Or a fundraising idea to raise money to fund council initiatives?
Each year, parents/caregivers and school staff bring forward many new ideas for the school council budget. If you are wondering how to bring more exciting learning enrichment opportunities to our school, here is your chance. We're collecting ideas for the 2025-2026 school year. We do this now, so that we can hit the ground running in September.
Submit your ideas through our online budget request form by May 2nd (see link in bio). Questions? Email Co-Treasurer's Julie and Alex [email protected] or join us at the April 24 School Council Meeting. ... See MoreSee Less

Let’s Talk Smartphones, Social Media & Our Kids
Brought to you by the Adam Beck School Council Mental Health & Well-Being Community
We’re excited to share an important initiative with our Adam Beck community: Unplugged Canada.
Unplugged Canada is a growing movement of parents who are coming together in school communities across the country to make it a norm to delay smartphones and social media until at least age 14.
How? By simply signing a pledge to wait.
The idea is simple but powerful: when more families make this choice together, we reduce the social pressure on kids, open up space for conversation, and shift the culture around early smartphone use and social media.
The pledge includes smartphones that provide access to social media apps.
It excludes smartwatches and iPads.
The best part? In just 72 hours, 40 Adam Beck families have already signed on! Let’s keep the momentum going.
Click the link below to learn more and take the pledge for your family.
If your child is in grade 4, 5, or 6 we would love to see more pledges from you!
Together, we can support healthier habits, reduce stress, and give our kids more time to just be kids. ... See MoreSee Less
